I'm not gonna talk about the movie. It's not out, YET.
But I DID read the book.
It's an epistolary novel, meaning that it's written in a form of letters or diary entries.
Maybe I should make a page here regarding epistolary posts...that would
be interesting yes. Wow, I'll start when I'm ready then :D
Back to the main point, the movie is coming out on September *I think* and
the official trailer is out. Well, it first premiered on the MTV Movie Awards
and for those who missed it, don't worry, it's already uploaded on the internet.
ENJOY
as usual, I don't know how to edit the size of the video here....please anyone
teach me how!
So far, it looks interesting enough to be watched and they had the same producer as "Juno"
It is also said that the author himself wrote the script for the movie,
so I guess that would be interesting!!!!
Reading the book itself is quite an experience. Somehow I imagined Patrick to
be not as "flamboyant" as the one in the trailer even though he is gay.
And so far, I thought I imagined Sam with long hair =.= Emma did a great job though
because she is gorgeous. Logan Lerman is THE ONE!
Though I have to say myself, I can't imagine him smoking or doing drugs....his face is not the type....I think...
The book is different from all other books I've read so far. This book has a
realistic view of an adolescent's life and how hanging out with friends
can actually influence us.
The story starts with this boy named Charlie. He is the youngest of three siblings
and from his letters, his parents are nice people. They're not abusive and such so I
guess it's a good start. He did mention an Aunt that loves him several times.
Then his highschool life began. He grew fond of his English teacher, Bill, but not fond
of other students. Finally, he met Sam and Patrick. Sam was described as beautiful and Patrick
is gay but that is not mentioned until somewhere in the middle part of the book.
Then starts the party, hangouts, socializing, which later leads to smoking, drug, and even
sex at some point but Sam was nice enough to only did it once....making out is an
exception. At the end, Sam and Patrick graduated while Charlie starts his sophomore year.
They keep in contact with each other. Between the parts of those events, there are relationships
broken or started, and there are, of course, humiliating moments as well. But I guess that's life.
I enjoyed reading it as I was curious of how Charlie and Sam will turn out as well as
their future. At the end of the book, Charlie said that he'll be okay even though he's not
writing anymore letters. Each part starts with a "Dear friend," so it really is an epistolary novel.
As for rating, I'm going to say 7 out of 10? or 9 out of 10? I'm not a critic but personally,
it was an enjoyable book :D
For those of you who doesn't have enough money to buy the book and support the author,
you can download the file here. As for those who can buy the book, please do~
I guess that would be the end of my long post regarding "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"
and CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!!!! it's PG-13 by the way...
"We are INFINITE"
Thank you for reading!!
