36th Diamond: Anna and the French Kiss

Talk about book titles with French Kiss on it,

An abundance of posts this month. Yeay. OH, I just finished Anna and the French Kiss yesterday, AND I LOVE IT. It's an awesome chick-lit and everything is just sooooo dreamy. Well not 100% dreamy, I mean, the guy's not THAT perfect. But it's still a sweet story.

So here goes my review on this book. And yes as usual, SPOILERS will be given and I will not be specific.

Our main character, Anna Oliphant, is from America. She's just an American girl, with a little brother, and a mother, and a rich writer dad whose books are made into blockbuster movies. One day, her dad sent her to Paris to study in School of America. WTF. At first, Anna was so confused on why did her dad sent her to Paris, and of course, the moment she was left alone, she was scared. Then here comes the friendly roommate Meredith! She made chocolate chaud (hot chocolate) and helped Anna get comfy. Didn't really helped much because Anna wasn't planning on going to breakfast the next day with Mer.

The next day, she went to the cafeteria for breakfast. I don't know but the cafeteria sounds really awesome and I FRIKKIN WANT ONE IN MY UNIVERSITY. Not that I'm not satisfied with mine, it's just....the menu is WOW. Moving on..Anna ends up sitting with Mer and was introduced to her other friends, Rashmi and Josh, who were dating. Then comes Etienne St. Clair, who is always late and has perfect hair hanging from his handsome face. Facts about Etienne: he's 1/4 French, used to live in London, and mom is American. International Lad.

c: frenchkissanna @ tumblr

Of course, Anna finds him attractive and all, but she is reminded of Toph, some guy from home she kissed before. Also, she found out that Mer has a cruch on Etienne and he actually already has a girlfriend. Oooo drama. This is what I find typical of chicklits.

Let's continue. Oh Etienne was definitely friendly! He helped Anna with ordering breakfast which was written in French and Anna knows nothing of it. He took Anna out at night to explore Paris because Anna would rather spend time in her room. One night, Etienne took her to point zero and told her to make a wish. You know, just a girl and a boy strolling around Paris at night. It's normal. Anna made a wish then, asking for, not Etienne, but what's best for her. Take a guess on what's best for her ;)

There was also this one time when Etienne took Anna to a bookstore. There, he bought Anna a book and told her that book was for one of the subjects in the next semester. It's a poetry book and Anna didn't even bother reading it. By the end of the story, she founds out that the book is actually filled with love poems. THAT'S A FRIKKIN SIGN FROM ETIENNE THAT YOU MISSED ANNA.

Yupp, Etienne has been in love with Anna. Even though he has a girlfriend, and his parents are problematic, he loves Anna with all his heart. Aww isn't that sweet :3 kinda feel bad for his girlfriend, but she's a biatch anyways.

c: Meg Moretti @ pinterest
The book focuses a lot on the things they experienced together and how they grew close to each other. So you kind of will experience how things are when someone is wooing someone. You'll get what I meant when you read it. It's all just soooo sweet. And in the end, they got together.

That's basically it. NOOO, nobody dies and nobody's hurt. Perhaps some bruises here and there, but nah, nothing much. Of course, there are some conflicts between Anna and Etienne, but hey, they got together in the end so, doesn't matter. Girl goes to Paris. Girl meets handsome boy. Handsome boy is attracted. Drama drama drama. Handsome boy confesses to girl. Happy ending.

I find this book's main plot is typical, but the story itself and how Stephanie conveyed it is just beautiful. I love the way each events are being described and how Anna was sometimes drowned in her own thoughts. It's all so realistic. Even Etienne, who was handsome and blah3, was short. He's not perfect hooraaayy! I just hate those stories with dreamy perfect boys who does not exist at all. Trust me, nobody's perfect. But Etienne is just undeniably attractive XD

Well there goes my unprofessional review of Anna and the French Kiss. There are some new words I learned from this book. Examples are "callipygian" which basically means "having nice buttocks." What a nice word. Somehow sure that word will be proven useful someday. Another is chocolat chaud which is French for hot chocolate I think...or maybe it isn't. I didn't bother checking :P

I have started reading another book. Hopefully, I can finish it before the holiday ends. Wait, I think I WILL finish it before the holidays. Yeaaaah! Oh and the New Year's coming! Tomorrow's Christmas and the New Years will be coming not long after! Have you guys made your wishes??

c: shacalderon @ tumblr

Well I hope your wishes come true in 2014. Good luck! Thank you for reading and I'll see you in my next post ;)

Sincerely yours,

Alicia. V

35th Diamond: Cacaote

Food review!

Here goes another one! HOORAH! This time I'll be reviewing Cacaote.
Cacaote was one of the recently opened cafes in the Senopati area. It has been opened for a while but I only get to visit recently. And the last time I called, you need reservations. Crazy. Okay, so the interior was just like what everyone says. It's really girly with pink, peach, white, brown tone all over. There are also chandeliers and curtains which made the room looked fancy. If they can maintain the hygiene and stuff, the place is pretty awesome.

On to the food!
I went there with my friends so, as usual, we ordered a few cakes and tried them all. Hey, we college students save money you know.

We ordered 3 items. On the left, you can see my pick Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut. On the top was the Fruit Tart. And on the right was the Salted Caramel Eclair. The taste? ALL DELISH

First! The Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut. It was definitely one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. The dark chocolate mouse is just delish and to top it off, they had crunchy bits on the bottom and it just made everything perfect. I can barely taste the hazelnut though, but it doesn't matter because I didn't really like hazelnut in the first place. This costs 40k. Oh and they charge you for 10% service and 10% charge. So in total this cake will cost around 50k. I wish the size is bigger...

Second! The Fruit Tart! I have always loved fruit tarts. They are just refreshing and sweet at the same time. And the one in Cacaote is definitely one of the best. Although the size is a bit small...the one I use to order at Sultan Hotel's bakery was bigger. It was more satisfying. But Cacaote's was not bad either. The custard's sweetness is just right. The crust is crunchy and not too hard. And the fruits were fresh and sweet. Not bad. The Fruit Tart costs 36k.

And last but not least, the Salted Caramel Eclair. Cacaote definitely have a wide range of eclairs. Heard it's one of their specialties. This eclair though, is sweet and salty at the same time. Of course, the name pretty much is self explanatory, but the choux itself was great. It has the perfect texture and OMG how I wish I could order more. But by the time we finished our cakes, we were full. HAHA. So next time. This eclair costs 43k-ish.

Overall, I am really quite satisfied with my visit to Cacaote. The cakes were delicious and I really want to make a second visit. I can see why so many people likes this place. They do have nice pastries and it's a perfect place for tea time. I also took a peek at the kitchen. There is actually a window where you can see the kitchen. Hey! The pastry chef is probably around my age! She looked young. The kitchen was clean so I'm relieved. They also accepts large cakes orders; however, the cake must be ordered 3 days prior. Oh I didn't get to try the macarons...all photo credits goes to my dear friend C.

Well that would be it from me today. I realized that I haven't been really active in updating this blog if I'm not on a holiday. I will try to be more faithful and update more often then...Thank you for reading and I'll see you on my next post! Stay healthy everyone, and have a merry Christmas!!

Sincerely yours,

34th Diamond: Better ChocoLate than Never

Well I have been updating a lot...

Hello everyone, how are your holidays? Christmas is just right around the corner!
I am soo excited for the new years! There's gonna be lots of fireworks!!
I have also made several changes to the blog. There are no more "Call it a diamond" or "writingdiamonds" stuff on the address or the title, but I will still keep the post titles as diamonds. Don't know why but I just like the concept. As for the title, I changed it because I think it needs something like a "signature"-ish feeling. So I changed it to that.

Today's post will be another food review!!
Well the book is still in progress and I have been going out to eat a lot so, why not. The place I'll be reviewing today is one of the shops at Senopati, Jakarta. If anybody's wondering where Senopati is, it's the road where Collette & Lola is. That road has A LOT of cafes and fancy restaurants. The place is called Better ChocoLate than Never. It used to be called Awfully Chocolate which was a franchise from Singapore if I wasn't mistaken, but then it closed down and changed to that.

The menu was all basically chocolate. It's the perfect place for chocolate lovers! It didn't really have that much difference with Awfully Chocolate. I thought they only changed the name, but they said they also changed the management, so I guess it's a different company then?? Not sure...

credit: my friend Cathline ;)

We ordered the blackforest baby cake and rich chocolate ice cream! The blackforest baby cake contains rum and it costs around 30k, I didn't keep the bill, please excuse me if the price is wrong. And the rich chocolate ice cream costs around that as well.

The rich chocolate ice cream was my favorite! The chocolate is just abundant and it's definitely different than other chocolate ice creams. I LOVE IT. The cake on the other hand was just okay for me. It's chocolatey, and it's nice, and I don't mind eating it again, but it's just okay. Perhaps a little bit more rum?? Hehehe.

Overall, I think it's a really nice place to spend time in when you're craving for chocolate. It's the perfect chocolate cafe. The interior was also nice since they keep things plain and simple.

OH, and I almost forgot. They have log cakes for sale! Christmas is just not the same without log cakes!! If you're interested, then just visit their website betterchocolatethannever.com and look around their menu and promotions. Psst, there's a Christmas promotion!

I really wouldn't mind going there once in a while and just buy one whole chocolate cake and bring it home. A good doze of chocolate won't kill anyone right? ;)

As for the book I am currently reading, I am pretty sure it will be done in a few days. It's my first chick-lit (other than Jane Austen's Emma) and I really enjoy reading it! Dreamy love story and sometimes unrealistic, but it's a GOOD BOOK.Thank you for reading and I'll see you in my next post!

Sincerely yours,

Alicia. V

33rd Diamond: Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy

"My beautiful summer girl..."

Here comes another series! I realized I've been reading too many of these supernatural TV-show like books...so next I'm planning to read either a chick-lit or something really heavy. St. Augustine's Confessions? LOL No way. I'll go with chick-lit!

Now let's talk about the series. I can't say that I don't enjoy reading it, but I can't really say that it's the best book I've ever read either. It is narrated from a first person point of view, but from different characters. So one time, the main girl character was narrating, then another it was the boy. I enjoyed it. Story wise, it was not bad. Perhaps some people would relate it to Twilight but I wouldn't. The only similarity is that in this book, wolverines are shape-shifters. So instead of getting this,

no offence to Teen Wolf fans
you get THIS.

AND JUST LOOK AT THEM

AREN'T THEY ADORABLE!!

And in the story, you get infected by the wolf-virus through wolf saliva a.k.a being bitten. But hey, it's the drama that counts right? HAHA. Speaking of "the drama," it's a romance story so expect a lot of cuddling scenes. I will not give a detailed review as usual but the main storyline will be discussed so YES THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. You have been warned.

Now on to the first book. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

The main character of the story is Grace Brisbane. She's just another girl who lives with her busy parents and never missed an assignment in school. But one day, she was attacked by wolves. All she could remember from the attack was a wolf with yellow eyes saving her from the other wolves. Guess who is the wolf with yellow eye? Yep you guessed right, it's Sam Roth, Grace Brisbane's going to be love-of-her-life.

In the first book, the story focuses on how Grace was attracted to this wolf, finally founds out he was a boy, and eventually they wanted a cure so they could stick together. OH, I forgot to mention. In this story, the wolves will transform to human when it's warm, and they will transform back into wolves when it's cold. And try to guess in which season is this story being put? WINTER. So yea, they tried to find a cure so they can keep cuddling and not have the boy transformed in a wolf. Grace herself was bitten, but not transformed. Why? Cause her father left her in a car to cook and it was so hot that the wolf inside of her recedes or something.

By the end of the drama of having other people bitten and somebody died, they found out that the cure might be giving oneself a very high fever. So Sam took it, and voila, he's human and no longer shifts into a wolf when it's cold. Then the next problem comes. Grace is starting to have headaches.

Now on to the second book, Linger.

In the second book, our beloved Grace found herself to be dying because the wolf inside of her can't get out. So yeap, it's the guy's turn to be emotional. Another character that plays a role in this book is Isabel, Rachel's bestfriend whose brother died because he became a werewolf and took the meningitis and didn't survived the fever. Isabel didn't turn into a wolf, don't worry. Another character who was added into the story was Cole St. Clair. He was the vocalist of some famous band called Narkotika and somehow he decided that being a wolf would be a better life. He regretted his choice eventually.

Well with Grace on the process of being a wolf and Sam being human, there is no possible way that we can get some mushy scenes in the book, not to mention Grace's protective parents, so here comes the Isabel and Cole couple. Isabel never became a wolf but she played a pretty big part in the story. She is always there when help is needed, even though her father is the crazy mad man who wanted to exterminate the whole population of wolves in Mercy Falls.

Long story short, by the end of this book, Grace was on the verge of dying and genius superstar Cole found out that it's because of the wolf inside of her so he gave the werewolf venom to her and she shifts to a wolf. Of course, her parents didn't know anything so they thought Sam killed her or something. Sam decided that he will find a cure for Grace. And the book ends.

The last book, Forever

I tell you, if you expect the ending to be like Twilight, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. The ending of the book was unclear to me...or maybe the epub I was reading was incomplete. Nope, I'm pretty sure it was complete. Maybe...ANYWAYS, here comes the last book of the series and here comes the goodbye to all the characters in the book.

The story starts with Grace finally being able to transform back into a human but still unstable therefore, there are no meetings between her and Sam. NOT YET. They met eventually when Grace was inside a mud pit and Sam and Cole found her on the verge of death, and they saved her. Hooray. Cole was then seen playing with himself (not in that kind of way you dirty minded people) not with toys, but with adrenaline and chemical substances. Not drugs. He is trying to find the cure. He found it, eventually, but it only lasted for a while.

Here comes the climax. Did I ever mention that Isabel's father was a psychopath who wanted to exterminate the whole population of wolves in Mercy Falls using helicopters, machine guns, bombs, and machetes?? I might have exaggerated it a bit but, you get the point. He wasn't kidding about the helicopters and machine guns though. So the climax was when the helicopters were chasing the wolves that was guided by Sam to another forest where they can be save. So the story is like this. Sam was human. Grace was wolf. Cole gave Sam a serum so he becomes a wolf again and leads the wolf pack from Mercy Falls to another forest. And he did. Synchronizing with Cole and Grace on the job.

Some wolves died, but some survived. Then it all came to an end. The pack is safe. And Grace tried the meningitis serum, not knowing whether she's going to die or not. And that's the ending.

"There are thousand ways to say goodbye" - Sam Roth

If I were to rate this book, it would be 3 out 5. I wouldn't say it's a must read because honestly, I skipped a few pages here and there. The characters can think quite a lot, and I do mean a lot. Well now that I'm done with this book, I shall read another one. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is something I look forward to. I actually read the first page and it looks interesting :D Can't wait to finish it. Another is You had Me at 'Hello' by Mhairi McFarlane. Heard that book has a lot of wit!

That would be all for this post. Thank you for reading and I hope you have
a nice day! See you on the next one!

Sincerely yours,

Alicia. V

32nd Diamond: Paul Bakery & Patisserie

Good afternoon

I can't believe I'm doing another food-related post today. Have been eating a lot I guess :D Heyyyy, don't judge! It's rainy season in Jakarta and Christmas is coming! That's enough reason to EAT A LOT.

Today I would be reviewing the just-opened-a-few-weeks-ago Paul bakery at Pacific Place's Gallery Lafayette. Paul bakery has actually opened in Singapore, America, and other countries, but it's the first time it opened here. So I wanna try. OH I LOVE THE INTERIOR. There's just so many natural lighting and it's the perfect place to take photoes! Unfortunately, I didn't really take a lot of photoes...a lot of selfies with my friends, but no photoes of the interior itself. Excuse my rudeness.

And now LE FOOD!
They serve breakfast menu from 7am-11am. And from 11am onwards, it's lunch menu. I came at 10:30am-ish so HA just in time for brunch. Didn't really pay that much attention to the cakes and macarons. Besides...the macarons cost 60k each piece. No way I'm paying that much for a macaron that might be a little bit bigger than other macarons but still the same. And the cakes are tarts. Not a fan of tarts. Looks good but maybe next time. I'm here for breakfast!

My friends ordered one of the baskets which consists of 4 breads. I forgot the names but there was one butter croissant, one long piece of country bread, one pain au chocolat, and one I-forgot-the-name. They also served it with 2 choices of jam and one butter. Price? 75k.

My friends ordered the avocado juice and cappuccino. I forgot how much the avocado juice costs (I think 40k-ish), cappucino is 45k, and tea is 40k. Oh and you can request some milk/soy milk/low-fat milk for the tea.

The croissants are just superb. I love it. Definitely one of the best bakeries in Jakarta right now. It's hard to find a good croissant nowadays. Oh and if you only want to buy the butter croissant, it's 18k. Other croissants are around 20-30k, but personally I think the prices are reasonable in that area.

On the breakfast menu, I saw sandwiches and croque monsieur. There are also other dishes. All these dishes costs around 80-130k. Quite expensive but the portion is sufficient.

One thing I'm disappointed in though....they don't have hot chocolate. I WANT PAUL'S SIGNATURE CHOCOLATE!! There are 3 types of hot chocolates. One with mocca, one signature, and the other I forgot. The prices are around 45-55k.

I WILL COME BACK for the hot chocolate. And I will come back on a rainy day!

I only skimmed through the lunch menu and the food seems quite normal. Salad, pasta, and other similar choices. The prices are all around 100-200k per dish. I don't think I'll be eating lunch there unless someone said they have really nice lunch dishes.

Well that's pretty much for the food. The service is okay. Clearly they lack of staff which affect the speed of service but the waitresses are friendly. Paul's is located right across Odysseia.

That's basically it for this post. I will update as soon as I get to try their hot chocolate!
Oh and I am currently reading the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. I just started the 2nd book and I will most likely review it. Depends on the ending...

Thank you for reading and have a nice day everyone!

Sincerely yours,

Alicia V

31st Diamond: Panna Cotta Etc

Hello

I am in search of a new blog layout. Please if there are any recommendations of websites, feel free to comment below. Thank you in advance ;)

Good day beautiful people! Today I shall write another food review. My last food review was on Colette and Lola which was at that time quite famous and stuff. Now it's basically just another bakery around the corner....Jakarta is flooded by new cafes and bakeries. And it's coming fast!

Recent trends are nitrogen made ice cream and online bakery stores; however, today I would like to blog about,
PANNA COTTA. Yes, the sweet gelatin dessert that just melts in your mouth.

Panna Cotta Etc

It is a local brand that actually starts as an online store. Each panna cotta is made to order. It has been selling for a few years and now they finally opened a store in Pacific Place. It's located right across Canteen(Ak sa ra) near Starbucks.

The store itself was not that big but hey, I'm here for the food so let's just put that topic aside. Hehe.
Soooooo, LE FOOD.

The menu consist of, of course, Panna Cotta with so many different flavors to choose from. I might have just stood there for 5 minutes, pondering over which one should I order. They also have sandwiches, tea, and cookies. BUT I CAME FOR THE PANNA COTTA, therefore I just ordered panna cotta. :D

As you could possibly inferred, I didn't sit in a place with that much lighting, alas the photo is crappy. I tried editing it. Turned out like that.

A friend of mine recommended Baileys so I ordered that one. And I also ordered Butterscotch and Mix Berries. It's the TOP 3 MOST RECOMMENDED according to the person in charge. Baileys was the best! I simply just L.O.V.E it. It has a hint of rum in it and tastes just like Le Gourmet's pudding's sauce. It's just superb. Mix Berries is basically mixed berries sauce where you can taste the sweet and sour of raspberries and blackberries. And Butterscotch is like caramel, creamy-creamy caramel. Imagine Alpenliebe's candy made into sauce. Yeap THAT.

The panna cotta tastes like panna cotta. REAL panna cotta. Some restaurants actually serves pudding-like substance and call the panna cotta. But this one is not pudding trust me.

I will definitely come back to try other flavors! Right now, this is one of my favorite dessert store in Jakarta, other than the occasional Haagen Dazz or Dairy Queen. NO ONE can resist ice cream. Oh and did I mentioned that Mc Donalds has delicious green tea McFlurry now?? Well THEY DO.

Oh, and I almost forgot. The price for each panna cotta is 30k rupiah. I kind of think that it's a bit expensive considering the size...but then again, if you eat more than one portion, you might get a lil bit umm....full. It is creamy. Oh, and I also realized there was this avocado panna cotta that you can only eat there and it costs 35k. I think it's the one with the coffee.

That's it for today and thank you for reading!

Oh and don't forget to eat healthily! It's flu season here in Jakarta.

Updated December 24th, 2013.

credit: my friend Cathline

I promised I'll make an update on this right? Teehee. Well I did came back with my two other friends. This time I tried the Delight, which was tiramisu panna cotta with espresso sauce, and Sensation, which was cheese panna cotta with raspberry sauce. My other friend ordered butterscotch.

Delight was okay. I can't say I really like it. The sauce has a hint of coffee in it, but not that strong. If you were to compare it to Haagen Dazz's coffee, Haagen Dazz wins. Now Sensation, was really a sensation. The cheese panna cotta was superb and you can clearly taste the cheese in it. The raspberry sauce was like any other raspberry sauce, but when it's eaten with the panna cotta, it really does taste unique but nice. I somehow liked that cheese panna cotta.

New photoes will be updated soon. A friend of mine took some but she haven't send it to me so HAHA. Oh and I ordered one Baileys panna cotta for take away and I have to say...if you ordered one for take away, they will give it to you in a white paper bag, and really, after 1 hour and 30 minutes in the car in the midst of Jakarta's epic traffic, the panna cotta melted. Like literally melted. I had to put it in the fridge first before it became solid again. I think they should consider giving ice pack or something. I did pay quite a lot for one small panna cotta. So, that is expected.

When my friends and I arrived there, there was no line at all and we were truly grateful, because 30 minutes later, there was a long line, up until the bridge in front of Starbucks. I am amazed. Good to see that the business is doing well.

Sincerely yours,

Alicia V

30th Diamond: Divergent Trilogy

Hello sunshine

I have left this blog unkempt...as I was scrolling down, most of the pictures are either corrupted or the source deleted it or the music playlist is no longer available and stuff. Well I'm too lazy to take care of them. So let's just go to today's topic shall we :)

Yeaaaaaah!!!! So despite being in university with busy schedules, I managed to finish the divergent trilogy! Yay me!! Of course, as a result my memory is a bit hazy regarding the story line but hey, I finished it. I am not going to do a formal plot review, but I might just rant about it. You want formal plot review? Go wiki!!

Now let's start with book 1, Divergent
This is where the story began (you don't say...). Our main character is a girl named Beatrice Prior. Oh before going into the story, let me give you a simple background of the world Beatrice is living in. In her world/city, the people live according to their factions. So it's a dystopian society where people are categorized to different groups. Somehow this reminds me of the Class Theory in my General Theory of State subject. MOVING ON, people are given the choice to choose their own groups, or in this world it called factions. That time comes when they are old enough. They also are given the aptitude tests so they can kind of clear out which faction they would fit them best. Beatrice comes from an Abnegation family, but there was something different with her aptitude test result. She does not belong to just one of the factions, therefore, she is a divergent.

c: manriquejoyce.wordpress
Beatrice's family was proven to be quite influential in the Abnegation area and she, as well as her older brother, was expected to choose Abnegation as their faction as well. Guess what? SHE DID NOT. She chose the Dauntless faction. Maybe because she finds out that she's a divergent.

That's one hell of a badass choice she made I gotta admit. Her brother also chose the Erudite faction. These choices changed their life. Being a Dauntless now, Beatrice had to go to the Dauntless headquarters that is located in a different area than the Abnegation's. There she had to go through tests in order to not be a factionless, she was bullied, she almost died, and she met a guy. IN WHAT STORY does the main character not met their soulmate?! I'm not complaining...it's just so...you get what I mean.

When all is set and she went through all the badass stuff needed to be done in the Dauntless area, one night, all the Dauntless became sleepwalkers who goes to the Abnegation area and kill anybody they see. That escalated quickly?? Maybe because it's me telling the story. The Dauntless became sleepwalking ruthless soldiers because of the serum made by the Erudites(a.k.a geniuses) under the orders of their leader. Guess what though. Our heroine, Beatrice, and her boyfriend, Tobias (also known as Four) was not affected by the serum. Why you ask? Because they're divergents.

Skipping all the battles, they managed to stop the whole attack thing and runs away to the Amity faction with survivors to search for refuge. And then here comes the second book, Insurgent.

c: mokonalovesmochi.devianart

And I just found this cute interpretation of the factions. Yay!

The second book focuses on Tris (Beatrice) and Four on their journey to finding out the truth. First they went to the Amity faction and finds out new facts. I will not list them all here. They also met a lot new people. Four actually came from an Abnegation family as well and his dad is am abusive Abnegation leader and his mom is the leader of the factionless. They also traveled to the Candor faction. FYI, the Candors are the really honest people that will say the truth right in your face no matter how much it hurts.

Then there goes another conflict where Tris was kidnapped, almost died, but saved. There was also some scenes of Tris and Four's romance. And in the end, they decided to go out of the city boundaries and finds out what's out there.

Book 3: Allegiant.

Here comes the final book! I am not gonna spoil much. Really. Trust me. They managed to go out of the city boundaries and founds out that their city is actually a part of a genetic experiment in order to find the perfect genes. So the researchers believed that people's behavior are determined from their genes and they need to find the perfect gene thus the perfect person. Their goal is to find the perfect person. Guess who is the person with the perfect genes?? Our heroine, Beatrice Prior.

Well it turns out things are not that happy go lucky either because there was some conflict between the researchers and some people who considered them as inhumane. There goes another fight. And another fight....

I am actually looking forward for the movie since there seems to be a lot of action.

And long story short, the story ends with everyone living in harmony together and they live happily ever after. Except for Four. I am just gonna spoil it until here ;)

The movie is coming out!!! On March 21st 2014. Lord I pray that during that time it won't be finals week. Please. Shailene Woodley would be playing Tris and Theo James would be playing as Four. HELL YEAH I'M EXCITED. Here are some trailers to feast your eyes on for now.

It's frikkin intense!!!

Well I can't wait for March! In the mean while, I shall continue my one month holiday reading other books. I am quite confused on what to read now though. I finished the first book of the Matched Trilogy; however, I didn't find it that interesting so I didn't continue reading the second book. I also stopped reading the Beautiful Creatures series. Never finished Robert Gailbraith's The Cuckoo's Calling. Instead I finished Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Started to read Eleanor & Park last night but didn't seem to be my cup of tea. Wanted to try Anna & the French Kiss but they say it's hardcore chick-lit. Maybe I'll try classics.

Well anyways, Christmas is coming! I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for reading~

Sincerely yours,

Alicia V
